Abdi Sinimo ((ソマリ語:''Cabdi Siniimoo''), (アラビア語:سنيمو)) (born 1920s), is a Somali singer and songwriter. He is noted for having established the balwo genre of Somali music.〔Abdullahi, p.172〕〔Johnson, p.xv〕 ==Biography== Sinimo was born in the 1920s in Jaarahorato, an historical village situated north-east of Borama, Somalia. He was the fourth son in a family of 18 children, consisting of nine boys and nine girls. The first band Sinimo created was in Borama during 1944 and it was called Balwo.
